Nicholas Kirylyck, Sr Obituary

Nicholas J. Kirylyck, Sr., 92, of Coatesville died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Marie Morrone Kirylyck, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Berwick, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Katherine Ivako Kirylyck. Mr. Kirylyck was a graduate of Berwick High School, the Trade School of Cleveland and the Barber School of Philadelphia. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a welder at the former Lukens Steel Company for 15 years and then was employed as a sales person at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 25 years retiring in 1979. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Holy Name Society and was a life member of the Elks Lodge of West Chester. Additionally, he enjoyed golf, football, baseball, playing pinochle and vacations at the Jersey shore. In addition to his wife, Marie, he is survived by two sons, John A. Kirylyck, husband of Mary of Coatesville and Nicholas J.
Kirylyck, Jr., husband of Karen of Guthriesville; a sister, Dorothy K. Holiwski of Berwick; two grandchildren, Adria Carroll and Nicholas J. Kirylyck III, and four great granddaughters, Julia, Molly, Emma and Ava. He was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue,
Coatesville. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, March 19 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Mausoleum, West Chester. In his memory, contributions may be made to Adult Day Care of Chester County, 201 Sharp Lane, Exton, PA 19341-1402.
