Barbara A. Buck

On August 19, 2024, Barbara A. (Barb) Buck became free of pain when God called her to be reunited with her beloved mother, Anna J. (Bicher) Buck.  Her father was estranged from the family unit since Barb was 3 years old.

Harris Mountain Funeral Home, Coatesville, PA is handling the death arrangements and, following Barb’s wishes, there will be no viewing and interment will be private.  Monetary donations may be made to your local SPCA or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Barb was fortunate to have found success in two career fields:  her love of teaching at Friendship Elementary School in Coatesville, PA and in private association management for the SEPOA and the IMLCA in the Poconos.   She earned her Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Education from West Chester University and a second Master’s degree from Villanova University.  Barb also earned the tree top designations/credentials in Professional Association Management from the National Community Associates Institute.

More important to Barb than her educational accomplishments were the many devoted friends she not only made but also maintained throughout the years.  She always considered herself blessed for having so many wonderful friends, including her co-workers and workplace friends.  She thoroughly enjoyed engaging in conversation with old and new friends which were often infused with her sense of humor.

She is survived by cousins Glenn Bicher & wife Marcia in Myerstown, PA and Roberta Wren in California.  Barb was most grateful to her long-time friend, companion, housemate/caregiver, Jane Balistreri and Jane’s entire family whom she considered her “family by choice”.
