Carl E. Franciscus, 94, of Coatesville passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hickory House Nursing Home, Honey Brook.
Carl was the loving husband of Shirley Wenger Franciscus with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late George and Irma Seiders Franciscus.
He was a 1949 graduate of Scott High School and served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. After his military service, he was employed as a Machine Operator with Reynolds Metals, formerly Millprint.
Carl and Shirley enjoyed traveling and over the years traveled to all 50 states. He was known to relax by fishing and horseback riding but very often he was seen on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s sporting events often serving as a taxi service for them. As a man of few words, he let his actions speak for him.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Shirley are four daughters, Penny McConnell (Tom Scamuffa); Pamela L. Campbell (William); Patty L. Shesko (Gary) and Peggy L. Johnson; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Larson and a brother, George Franciscus, Jr.
Funeral services will be private.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
