Doris E. (Eckert) Valenti

Doris E. Carr Valenti, 93, of Coatesville passed away on Sunday,  December 18, 2022.

She was the widow of Rocco Valenti who passed away on January 2, 1973.

Born in Christiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late U. Harry and Etta M. Eckert.  She graduated from the Lancaster Business College and had retired from the Supply Service Department of the Coatesville VA Medical Center after 26 years of service.

She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Downingtown VFW Post 845 and also a life member of the Thorndale Fire House.

Like her husband Rocco, she had been an avid bowler for many years.

Surviving her are a son, Richard and wife Ruth Carr of Coatesville; a son, Robin and wife Jan Valenti of Knoxville, TN; grandsons, Gregory Carr and wife Stephanie, Maxwell and Zachary Valenti, Hayden Van Swearingen; and two great granddaughters, Kacie and Mia Carr.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Carr Van Swearingen of Orlando, FL; a grandson, Timothy Carr of Coatesville, PA; a granddaughter, Stacy Carr of Coatesville, PA; brothers, Leo and William Eckert; and sisters, Alta Kendig, Charlotte Ruth, and Isabel Eckert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville where relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. 

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
