Frank Balistreri Obituary

Frank A. Balistreri, 74, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 1st, 2025.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Ethel Gotham Balistreri.

After graduating from Coatesville Area Senior High Class of 1969, Frank was employed for 47 years with PECO.

Surviving him are his daughters, Kristen Torres (Eddie), Wendy Balistreri (Chad Bock), Amy Balistreri and their mother Kathy Slider Balistreri.  Grandchildren, Mackenzy Balistreri, Joseph, Julianna and Jason Torres and Anthony Bauer.  Great grandchildren, Carter and Stella Sensenig, two brothers, Michael and John Balistreri and his beloved dog, Reilly.

Frank will be deeply missed by his daughters, grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.  Throughout his life first and foremost Frank was the ultimate dad and family man.  He adored his daughters, he’d work hard all day and then play with his girls when he got home, or do projects around the house.  He’d pile all of his girls and all of the neighborhood kids into his truck and take them to Hibernia Park, or sledding, or take them all to his favorite Dairy Queen, whatever they wanted!  He also loved his grandchildren so very much, and he never missed their sporting events, that continued as long as he was able, and when he wasn’t able to be on the sidelines he’d sit and watch the games from his truck. That same love extended to his nieces and nephews, he enjoyed a ton of adventures with all of them over the years. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed family vacations in OCNJ and the Outer Banks. Frank was always joking and laughing, his smile was contagious. The Eagles and Phillies were also a favorite pastime, and in his spare time, working in his beautiful yard was his passion, always hosting many wonderful summer pool parties and family events. Eating was another one of Frank’s joys- he ate at every pizza shop in the area, he especially liked Mama Lena’s, Jack’s and Foster Boys, equally enjoying all of the special celebrations at the Double D Diner.  Frank enjoyed people and was always so generous with his time and he always loved just lending a hand wherever he could. He was an all around great guy!

Frank’s work allowed him to be outside every day as he held many different positions with PECO, including Substation Operator, Lineman and Troubleman.  Everyone in the Coatesville Area knew Frank not only due to his fantastic personality but given the fact that he had worked for so many years for PECO, it seemed there just wasn't a person or a road in Chester County that Frank didn’t know!  Frank was extremely kind and it’s been said that the song by Natalie Merchant, “Kind and Generous” described Frank perfectly.  Frank will be so deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2025 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S 17th Avenue, Coatesville, where relatives and friends may visit with the family from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
