Geraldine E. (Cloud) Hamara

Geraldine E. Hamara, 94, of Downingtown passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Sanatoga Center, Pottstown. 

Born in Caln Township, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Clyde and Naomi Good Cloud.

She was the wife of Andrew J. Hamara who preceded her in death in 2007.

Geraldine worked at the Coatesville Egg Auction in her early years. For the next 40 years she was the family caregiver.  Taking care of her younger brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and eventually providing childcare for multiple families; cooking meals for multiple older relatives, and being there for her own family.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Hamara and a son, Andrew Hamara; five grandchildren, Michael Hamara (Martha), Shannon Hamara, Andrew Hamara (Lauren), Ashleigh Hamara and Brittany Hamara and two great grandchildren Ava and Trent.

Also surviving are her brothers, John Cloud, Harry “Pierce” Cloud and Edward Cloud; and sisters, Alice Dempsey and Linda Munzanmayer.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Cloud, Clyde “Junior” Cloud and Robert Cloud; and sisters, Betty Lou Sweigart, Margaret Wills, Dorothy McGinnis and Pearl Speakman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2024 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
