Irma Lambert Obituary

Irma Welch Lambert, 103, a longtime resident of Coatesville, died at home, Monday, January 2, 2017.
She was born in Wisconsin on December 28, 1913, and lived on a farm near Gleason. She was the daughter of the late Jay Wilkes Welch and Ethel (Cronkrite) Welch. She married Wilson Sharpe Lambert on June 21, 1944.
Irma had two careers in her life. She was a minister's wife and mother. As a minister's wife she served in many capacities, such as playing the piano and typing the church bulletin. She then was a legal secretary at the Department of Agriculture, Washington, DC, until retirement.
Irma was very artistic: she enjoyed painting, needle point, creating pictures from seashells and pottery.
She is survived by her son, Lynn David, and daughters, Rebecca and Anita June and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson; her son, John Jay, and all of her siblings.
The family expresses their gratitude to her long-time and dedicated caregiver, Annie Mae.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Virginia alongside her husband. A private celebration of life will be held in Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate a donation, in memory of her son, John to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
