Jan C. "Butch" Townsend

Jan C. "Butch" Townsend, 70, of Parkesburg died Monday, August 27, 2018 at his home.
Born in Coatesville he was the son of the late Dowlin S. and Clelia Bovi Townsend.
Jan was a 1966 graduate of Downingtown High School.
Jan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.
He enjoyed motorcycling and muscle cars and often traveled to South Dakota. He was a collector of swords and Coca-Cola memorabilia. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Wheaton (Paul); brothers, Dennis, Robert and Peter; a granddaughter, Brittany Bailey; several nieces and nephews and his friend of 10 years, Michelle Izbiansky.
Jan was preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle M. Townsend and a granddaughter, Courtney A. Standeven.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Relatives and friends may call beginning at
5 p.m. and Military Honors will be rendered at 6 p.m.
