John F. Stanley

John F. Stanley also known as Fred, was 84 years old residing in Glenmoore, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 after many health issues at the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA and surrounded by family.

He was the son of the late Annabelle Sorber and Rodney Stanley and preceded in death by his partner of 35+ years Catherine M Shimer. Deceased also is a brother, Dennis Sorber and a sister, Geraldine Mastrippolito.

John is survived by his daughters, Donna Zielinski and Penny Berkey (Bob) and stepchildren: Catherine Plank, Rosemary DeHaven, Ruthann Hackett, Sandra Collins (Randy), David Hancotte and Bertha Sloyer.

Surviving siblings are his sister, Bonnie Hill and brother, Gary Sorber (Carol) and many nieces and nephews.

He is loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed. Loved being with the grandchildren and great grandchildren especially babies.  He always enjoyed family gatherings and picnics to spend time with everyone.

John was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force as Airman Basic. He was previously employed with other companies including Mayflower Moving Co. and Walmart until he retired.

He loved to watch football and baseball.  His favorite football team always was the Miami Dolphins and loved the joking he would get from our Eagle fans.  Loved eating, especially home cooked meals and his favorite dessert was ice cream.

He was a longtime member of the Downingtown Moose Lodge, where he enjoyed friends and beers.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Laid to rest at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355
