Joseph "Joe" Michael Patrick Yankech

Joseph “Joe” Michael Patrick Yankech, who died April 12, 2021, will be remembered for many things, not least of which was his smile that brought joy and love to those fortunate enough to see it. Joe passed away peacefully at Trustbridge Hospice in Delray Beach, Florida at the age of 51 due to complications related to brain surgery. He was born in Lima, Peru, on January 4, 1970, to Joseph Michael and Ana Maria (Santa Gadea) Yankech. On February 26, 2014, he married Robert Thomas in a charming ceremony surrounded by friends, family, and moving boxes just before they relocated to Florida.

From a young age, Joe was fascinated by structures and buildings of all sorts, even converting his childhood sandbox into a model of a city with paved roads and skyrise buildings. He graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of Detroit Mercy and worked as an architect and project manager at Harley, Ellis, Devereaux, PFB Architects, and Cartaya and Associates Architects.

Joe was a fierce friend who maintained relationships from high school (Portage Northern H.S.), college, and throughout his life. He loved traveling with Robert, spending time with family and friends, playing with his dogs, trying new restaurants, going to see movies, jumping in elevators, and dining on freshly made popcorn.

Preceded in death by his mother Ana; Joe is survived by Robert Thomas-Yankech (husband), Joseph Yankech (father), David Yankech (brother), Andrew Yankech (brother), and countless other family and friends.

A public viewing will be held at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA, on Wednesday, April 21, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
