Obituary
Mae I. O’Leary, 92, of Coatesville passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Harrison Senior Living, Coatesville.
She was the widow of the late David H. O’Leary, Sr., who passed away in December, 2011.
Born in Coatesville, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Alice Ford Rissel.
An area resident her entire life, she was a member of the Coatesvlle Bible Fellowship Church.
Mae was a 1948 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.
She worked at Strawbridge & Clothier in Exton for many years as a clerk. She volunteered at the Brandywine Hospital and assisted with Meals on Wheels.
Her hobbies included shopping, gardening, and knitting; however, her greatest fulfillment in life was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her family.
She loved going to Ocean City, NJ with her family for their yearly summer vacation together.
Mae is survived by her children; daughter, Patricia Ohar, wife of Danny and son, David H. O’Leary, Jr., husband of Andrea; grandsons, Danny Ohar, Jr. (Joan) and Chad Ohar (Kristi), granddaughters, Rachel O’Leary and Erin O’Leary, great-grandchildren include Ryan Ohar, Emma Ohar and Kate Ohar and step-great-grandchildren include Corrie Haiko, Ernie Haiko and Kinzie Haiko.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Sult, Lillian Fickes, Sara Neeld and brothers, Frank Rissel, Charles Rissel and Earl Rissel.
Mae’s family would like to thank the staff at Harrison Senior Living and Holisticare Hospice for the love and care she received.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
