Margaret Harlan Obituary

Margaret H. Harlan, 88, of New Holland and formerly of Coatesville died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Garden Spot Village.
She was the wife of Earl R. Harlan with whom she shared 66 years of marrage.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mabel Smith Harris, Sr.
Margie was a 1947 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School where she was a cheerleader and played on the tennis team. She continued her education at West Chester University and Villanova University becoming a teacher in the Coatesville Area School District and later working as a school librarian.
She was a member of the Church of the Open Bible in Parkesburg.
Margie was a member of the Junior Century Club and was active in the PTA at East Fallowfield Elementary School. She also enjoyed playing card games especially bridge.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, Earl; are two daughters, Jean Hart and Barbara Cole wife of Neil; a brother, Robert A. Harris; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Pearce; a sister, Mildred Moros; and a brother, William J. Harris, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Relatives and friends may call beginning at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Hephzibah Cemetery, Coatesville.
