Mark David Skerchock, 64, of Coatesville passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 surrounded in love.
Born and raised in Coatesville, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" O'Leary Skerchock and the late George Skerchock.
Mark graduated from Coatesville High School, Class of 1975, where he was voted “most sentimental” of his graduating class. Afterward, he attended The Pennsylvania State University, main campus. Through the years he remained a steadfast PSU football fan and was a lifelong season ticket holder.
Mark worked in the restaurant industry as a bar tender, having worked at the Malvern Meeting House, Shadyside Inn and Thorndale Inn. His ever-bright smile and gentle demeanor brought him many lifelong friendships with those he met over the years from behind the bar.
In his free time, Mark enjoyed playing tennis, golfing with friends and swimming at the YMCA pool after years serving as a lifeguard and swim instructor. His most beloved past time though, was skiing the nation's slopes with his many friends of the Brandywine Valley Ski Association.
Mark is survived by his mother, Betty; brother, John A. Skerchock (Stephanie); niece, Samantha Dillon (Austin); nephew, Grant Skerchock; two great-nephews, Eamon and Arthur Dillon and several other cousins and extended family members from both the Skerchock and O’Leary families.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway where relatives and friends may visit from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
A Luncheon will follow the interment services.
