Matthew J. Hamer passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Hialeah, Florida on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Matthew grew up in North Wilmington, and later, Voorhees, NJ. After his family relocated to Florida in 1998, Matthew attended Barron Collier High School.
He was employed at Boeing Distribution Services as a team member in the Quality Control Engineering group.
Matthew enjoyed scuba diving and fishing at their second home on Big Pine Key, Florida. He was a health enthusiast who worked out regularly. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and carried his love of the Eagles from the Philadelphia area to wherever life took him in Florida.
Matthew is survived by his father, James Hamer of Sarasota, Florida; his mother, Virginia (Anne) Eastburn of Sahuarita, Arizona; and his sister, Melissa Hamer of Amado, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Millard and Ann Hamer of Wagontown, Pennsylvania, and maternal grandparents Virginia Eastburn of Newark, Delaware and Joseph Eastburn of Wilmington, Delaware.
Matthew’s interment will be in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Rainbow Road, Valley Twp. PA on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11AM following a graveside service.
The service is open to all. There will be no reception following the service.
