Peter J. Gracia, Sr.

Peter J. Gracia Sr., 90, passed away on Friday April 9, 2021 at the Harrison House in Coatesville, PA. He was the husband of Rita Profeto Gracia who preceded him in death in 2007.

 He was born October 14, 1930 at The Coatesville Hospital. He had three siblings and was the last surviving child of Joseph and Anne Gracia.

 He attended Coatesville Area Schools and after joined the U.S. Army where he served for two years in Germany.  Following his discharge from the Army, he joined Lukens Steel Company where he worked in the transportation department and retired after 42 years. After retirement, he spent 20 years working for Harris Mountain Funeral Home.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Donna Regener, husband Terry Breslin; and his son, Pete “Sonny” Gracia Jr., wife Betsy Gracia. Five grandsons, Steve Regener, wife Jaime; Michael Regener, wife Michelle; Tony Gracia; Dave Gracia, wife Lauren; and Vince Gracia, wife Jenna. Eight Great Grand Children; Pierce Gracia, Hailey & Abigail Regener, Matthew Regener, Kaylee & Landon Gracia, Chase & Cole Gracia.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church where he was an usher for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, American Legion, St. Anthony’s Lodge, West End Fire Company and LGM.

Pete and Rita always looked forward to spending time in the summer months at the New Jersey Shore with friends and family. He will always be remembered as a great story & joke teller. A lifetime dedicated Coatesville “Red Raider” fan so much so that when his Grandsons played football against Coatesville his loyalty was with the Red & Black and he sat in the Coatesville stands.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville.  Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
