Phyllis J. Illes, 88, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Pocopson Home, West Chester.
She was the wife of the late William Illes, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Honorata Gac Kopanski.
Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of Saint Agnes High School in West Chester. She was employed at the former Kmart in Thorndale for 17 years and retired in 1997.
Phyllis was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church of Coatesville, where she served as an Eucharistic minister. Her other memberships included a life member of the Polish American Citizens Club Auxiliary and the West End Fire Co. Auxiliary.
Surviving her are two children, a son, Anthony G. (Carol) Illes and a daughter, Geralyn M. (Michael J.) Thomas; four grandchildren, Michael A. (Carrie) Thomas, Ashley (Richard) Stichter, Adam (Vanessa) Thomas and Felicia Thomas; and three great grandchildren, Antonio, Dante and Noah. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Kopanski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville where relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Coatesville.
In her memory, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church at the above address.
