Robert Apgar Obituary
Robert J. Apgar, 73, of Pleasantville died suddenly, Thursday, August 30, 2018 while visiting family.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter and Hazel Demming Apgar.
He was the husband of Diana Apgar who preceded him in death in 2011.
Robert served in the U. S. Air Force in Guam during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a maintenance supervisor with the Board of Education of Fairfield, CA for 30 years.
For the past ten years he lived in Pleasantville, PA where he served as a trustee at the Pleasantville Free Methodist Church.
Surviving him are a brother, Edward W. Apgar (Janet) and a sister, Ellen Eckardt (Rev. Stephen) both of New Jersey; five nieces and nephews, Allen, Andrew, Elizabeth, Steven, and Rebecca; several great nieces and nephews; and Gayle Morton, a long-time best friend and soul mate of six years.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Pleasantville Free Methodist Church, 420 North Main Street, Pleasantville, PA 16341.
