Sheila Marie Bodnar, daughter of George F. and Dorothy S. Bodnar, embarked on her life's journey from the old Coatesville Hospital, August 10th, 1956 and with her journey ending on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at her home. Sheila was a "West Ender", who attended the Coatesville Area School System, graduating in 1974.
The Midway Hot Dog Shop was Sheila's first meaningful employment opportunity. Followed by a 26 year shift at the Coatesville Veterans Administrative Hospital. Putting herself through nursing school at Alvernia College in Reading, graduating in 1994. Sheila then became a traveling nurse whose profession took her throughout the country. Stops in New Mexico, North Carolina, Kentucky, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania all benefited from her services.
Finally retiring from professional nursing in 2021, Sheila settled into a life of gardening, painting and recreational travel. One of her favorite relaxation destinations was the isle of Jamaica. The community of Pshs, in Mohnton, PA is where she called home.
Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by brothers, Michael F. Bodnar and companion, Diana Pester, George E. Bodnar and wife Joann, Uncle David Zelina (Jackie), cousins and nieces.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit, kindness, and personality will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Friends and family may pay their respects beginning at 10 a.m. with a Time of Remembrance at 11 a.m.
Interment will be private.
