Stephen Katz, MD Obituary

Stephen Roy Katz, MD beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024 in Exton, PA, surrounded by his loving family. He was formerly of Fairfield, CT.

Stephen was born in the Bronx, NYC to Nathan and Rhea Katz. He was a proud graduate of Bronx High School of Science and later pursued his passion for medicine at NYU Medical School.

As a brilliant OB/GYN, Stephen dedicated his life to the noble profession of bringing new life into the world. He touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and care. Having served as president of the Connecticut State Medical Society, his commitment to his patients was unmatched, and his legacy will continue to live on.

Outside of his medical practice, Stephen found joy in music and nature. He enjoyed playing the piano, fishing, tending to his greenhouse and the countless birds, fish and the daily walks with the family dog.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Katz, whom he met while she was working at Bellevue Nursing School, his daughter Rachel Katz, son Jeffrey Katz (Cheryl), and daughter Leah Schmidt (Stephen), his grandchildren, Jonathan and Audrina, as well as extended family, friends, and all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered and cherished.
