Walter Powell Obituary

Walter A. Powell, 77, of Honey Brook and formerly of Lewes, DE and Coatesville passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Neighborhood Inpatient Hospice, West Chester.
Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Oscar and Helen Hinkle Powell. Walter was the husband of the late Faith M. Powell, to whom he was married to for 44 years at the time of her passing last July, 2016.
Walter was employed for over 40 years at Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown and Denver. He was a hunting and fishing enthusiast and was a member of Camp Runnymeade in Cross Forks, Potter County. He had many wonderful memories of hunting and fishing trips with his sons, brothers and friends over the years.
Surviving are four sons, Walter A. Powell, Jr. of Manila, Philippines; Martin L. Lockhart and wife, Anita of Downingtown; George M. Lockhart and wife JoAnn of Narvon; and Aaron K. Powell and wife Dawn of Ephrata. Also surviving are a sister, Joan Garver; daughter-in-law, Lori Powell; twelve grandchildren, Maris, Danielle, Taylor, Kirk, Tara, Kaela, Ryan, Kristina, Anita Rose, Brittany, Brooklyn and Jackson; and two great grandchildren, Emilia and Gabriel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Fred and George; his sisters, Anna May and Susan; and a beloved grandson, Kyle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville where relatives and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will be private at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
