Wuilian Serrano Obituary

Wuilian R. Serrano, 52, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Born in Concepción de Oriente, El Salvador, Wuilian was the youngest of ten children to his beloved parents, Francisco and Maria Florinda De Serrano. He immigrated to the United States in 1987 and completed his high school education at Westbury High School in New York. In the years that followed, he traveled back and forth between the United States and El Salvador. On one of those visits home, he married the love of his life, Angela Serrano, on December 10, 1992. Their bond, rooted in deep love and commitment, carried them through 32 years of marriage and family life.

Wuilian later moved to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, where he worked at Coppa 82 for twelve years, developing his skills and love for cooking. Through hard work, perseverance, and hands-on experience, he became a skilled chef admired for both his talent and generous spirit.

Wuilian and his family settled in Coatesville, where he and Angela opened Willy’s Family Restaurant, a beloved local spot that reflected his warmth, determination, and pride. His incredible work ethic and commitment to his family were evident in everything he did—from long hours at the restaurant to the small projects he enjoyed fixing around the house.

Willy had a gift for making people feel at home. He brought joy and laughter to every gathering and was the heart and soul of every celebration. He loved cooking for others, sharing jokes with his cherished customers, and spending peaceful Sunday evenings surrounded by his family. His laughter filled the room, and his meals filled many hearts.

He is survived by his wife Angela and their three children: Estefany McCall, Jennifer Serrano, and Francisco Serrano. He is also lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren: Theo McCall, Alessa McCall, Scarlett McCall and Ava Nieves-Serrano. Wuilian’s legacy lives on in their strength, in the community he helped build, and in every dish made with love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at St. Joseph Church, 404 Charles Street, Coatesville.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will follow at Hephzibah Cemetery, 2237 Strasburg Road, East Fallowfield, PA
